3 mln EUR H2020 project HubIT coordinated by Civitta was selected for funding2017-06-20
H2020 project HubIT prepared by Civitta Estonia received excellent results in evaluation (14 points out of 15) and was selected for funding with 3 mln EUR by the European Commission.
The deployment of information and communication technologies (ICT) introduces radical changes to our lives. Therefore, it is crucial that ICT innovations follow the expectations, needs and values of society, studied by social sciences and humanities (SSH). The objective of HubIT (The HUB for boosting the Responsibility and inclusiveness of ICT enabled Research and Innovation through constructive interactions with SSH research) project is to facilitate the take up of SSH research results in ICT development projects. To do this, HubIT will:
- Elaborate a comprehensive set of definitions, guidelines and tools for enforcing RRI and SSH issues in ICT research and innovation;
- Implement a Europe-wide series of workshops to educate and engage the stakeholders (ICT developers, SSH researchers and other);
- Facilitate actual toe practical collaborations and experimental activities within series of Inclusive Hackathons, Interactive ICT maker-labs and a Common Ground Camp;
- Provide stakeholders at European level, with information concerning SHub activities, events, achievements via dissemination.
The project is coordinated by Civitta Estonia and has 14 high-level partners, including top universities (Technical University Berlin, Tel Aviv University, University of Tartu, Link Campus University from Italy), national science agencies (Slovak Centre of Scientific and Technical Information, Danish Board of Technology Foundation, The National Research Council of Italy), ICT Association of Hungary etc.
Total budget of the project is 3 mln EUR and is expected to start in October with duration of 3 years.
