The RebelRocket project submitted to the H2020 programme was selected for funding with EUR 1,4 million2018-04-12
RebelRocket project application prepared with participation of Civitta Estonia passed successfully the assessment and was selected for funding.
Horizon 2020 SME Instrument is famous for its excellent funding opportunities, but also for its extremely high competition. With RebelRoam, 219 companies competed for funding in Smart Cities and Innovative Transportation category, of which only 9 companies received funding. Thus, with the help of Civitta Estonia, RebelRoam is among the successful 4%.
RebelRoam is a company that develops Wi-Fi sharing and optimization solutions for public transport. Their H2020 project RebelRocket focussed on developing a solution that allows passengers to use the internet safely throughout entire driving time. RebelRocket blocks access to Spotify, YouTube, Facebook and to other Internet sites with large data needs in case of heavy data traffic. RebelRocket is, for example, used by Elron and Lux Express to optimize their passengers' Wi-Fi.
The overall cost of the project is roughly EUR 1,96 million, and the funding from H2020 SME instrument covers EUR 1,4 million of this total. The project will start in April 2018 and will last for two years.
For Civitta Estonia it is another success story. We believe that the H2020 SME tool really helps start‑ups’ to bring innovative solutions to the market faster, to grow, and contribute to the economy through tax revenue and job creation. It really makes a difference!
