BRIDGING DIGITAL INNOVATION ECOSYSTEMS ACROSS AFRICA AND EUROPE WITH AEDIB|Net

Civitta is a proud partner of the project that sets to strengthen a common African European digital innovation ecosystem by supporting local digital innovation and start-up ecosystems in Africa and facilitating the collaboration between European and African DIHs - AEDIB|Net. 

Funded by the European Commission’s Horizon 2020 programme and coordinated by GIZ in Germany, AEDIB|NET brings together a network of 13 strong partners from the African and European innovation ecosystem with the ambition to: 

  • INSPIRE the ecosystem actors by developing a supportive innovation policy framework for innovation, building the capacity of marginalised groups and enhancing digital and entrepreneurship skills via Digital Entrepreneur Skills Academy.

  • CREATE Digital Innovation by establishing African Digital Innovation Hubs, Digital Hub Lab, online marketplaces with virtual communities and investor networks. The ADIHs will focus on four topics: Climate Smart Agriculture, Smart Cities, Digital Trade and Clean Tech.

  • CONNECT start-ups, SMEs, DIHs, diaspora and other African and European ecosystem players in trans-continental partnerships to facilitate inter-continental collaboration and the creation of a common digital innovation ecosystem.

The Pre-Commercial Procurement invitation for 12 DIHs in Africa is open for applications! 

We are looking for groups of organisations:

  • willing to work closely together to facilitate the creation of the Digital Innovation Hubs in their respective regions.
  • with complementary expertise and a public-benefit objective.
  • willing to offer a set of services to companies to support their digital transformation and innovation as a regional one-stop-shop that can offer expertise in either one of the following technological specialisation areas:

A total of 12 DIH projects will be selected within 4 Technological Specialisation Areas: Climate Smart Agriculture, Smart Cities, Digital Trade, Clean Tech.

Submission deadlines:

  • 1st cut-off: January 18, 2022 (16:00 Lagos time)​​​​​​​
  • 2nd cut-off: February 8, 2022 (16:00 Lagos time)
