At CIVITTA we challenge the traditional consulting industry, mixing smart people with lean processes and structures. We are not afraid to encourage our clients to think out of the box and challenge their own industries. This means asking difficult questions and bringing bold, new ideas and innovative solutions to the table.
We have asked Eoin Lazaridis Power - an Associate Partner from the CIVITTA office in Serbia - to share his thoughts on this.
The main thing about being a challenger consultant is being up for anything. When a client has a problem you think, sure, we can help with that!
I spend most of my free time reading (history, politics & sociology, current events), watching football, and going on runs. Once COVID vaccines are widely distributed, I'd like to get back to traveling regularly – Central Asia (especially Uzbekistan and Mongolia) is high on my list. I also love skiing and hiking, though unfortunately, I don't get the chance to go as often as I’d like.
Be hungry, flexible, and aggressive. We're an office in a country where the consultancy market is still under-developed, so success here depends on fighting for our opportunities and being open to whatever kind of work comes across our desk. Also, it's never too early to start building subject-matter expertise. Find an industry you're excited about, follow the trade press that covers it, and start building a network in that area.
