Civitta presented its expert valuation of forestry reform to Lithuanian parliament's committee of rural affairs
2017-07-12On Wednesday (the 5th of July) Civitta Lithuania has presented its evaluation of proposed change in forestry law in Lithuanian parliament’s committee of rural affairs. The aforementioned changes would allow to move further OECD suggested reform and consolidating 42 state-owned forest enterprises, General directorate of state owned forests (an overseeing institution) and the National forestry institute into one state-owned company.
The conclusion and suggestion of Civitta experts was to make some technical adjustments to the proposed changes and move forward with the reform – propose it for the vote in the parliament. The evaluation was accepted and taken into account during the final vote of the committee, which was to accept the proposed changes. On the 11th of July the parliament voted in favour of the proposed changes in law and the planned reform of state owned forest enterprises.
