Established in 1985, SACO is a pioneer in the hardware retail and wholesale business, serving as the largest total-solution home improvement superstore in Saudi Arabia. Although their physical stores were very successful, for a long time their e-commerce presence was nearly non-existent. They decided to enhance it and we pitched them an idea to redo it from scratch.
Our journey began with extensive research into the best e-commerce practices, drawing insights from online retail companies in Saudi Arabia, the Middle East, the U.S., Europe, and the Baltics. This research provided us with a clear roadmap on the required features, as well as typical best practices.
Our e-commerce expert with the best practices and in-house experience from one of the leading electronics stores in Lithuania further elevated our capabilities. With this, we initiated the wireframing and planning process.
It was decided that our core focus is going to be on the creation of native Android and iOS apps. Additionally, we developed an admin panel to manage the content visible on these apps.
Ensuring a seamless shopping experience for customers, regardless of where they filled their digital shopping carts, was one of our core responsibilities. To achieve this, we adopted an omnichannel approach that delivers a cohesive shopping experience across all the digital channels.
Following the launch, we have performed several waves of additional feature releases, including a platform facelift. At that point, we implemented UI/UX changes to enhance its modern appeal.
This marked our company’s pilot project in Saudi Arabia, and its success served as a catapult, throwing us into further engagements within the country. Our foothold in the market continues to expand as we create new ambitious digital projects. And we have no intention of slowing our momentum anytime soon.
