Meliva — Launching a Feature-Rich Healthcare App

The background:

Meliva is a fast-growing private healthcare provider with a growing presence across the Baltic and Nordic regions, employing 40 000 specialists. With well over a 1 000 clinics globally, the group is recognized for combining large-scale operations with personalized, patient-centered care.

To support its vision of delivering accessible, digital-first services, Meliva Lithuania set out to create a mobile app that would simplify how patients engage with everyday healthcare – from viewing lab results to consulting doctors.

The collaboration began through an existing relationship with Meliva’s core management team, who had previously partnered with Civitta on other successful digital products. Based on that trust, we were selected to lead the full design and development of the mobile solution.

The app offers many functions at launch, here are the most important ones:

  • Virtual Clinic: Patients can consult doctors directly from their smartphones from 6 a.m. to 10 p.m. daily – including weekends and holidays. Consultations are official, recorded in the national eHealth system, and can be paid for individually or accessed through an affordable monthly subscription. Health insurance coverage may apply.
  • Lab Results with Smart Summaries: Lab test results are presented clearly and intuitively. Abnormal indicators appear first, with contextual explanations and access to historical results – including historical data from past visits at Meliva clinics.
  • Doctor Appointment Booking: Users can schedule, reschedule, or cancel in-person visits by selecting a clinic, doctor, and available time slot – directly within the app.
  • Electronic Prescription Support: When multiple medications are prescribed, the app searches major pharmacy chains to find locations where all of the needed drugs are in stock. Patients can reserve the entire prescription set with one tap, eliminating extra trips.
  • Family & Proxy Access: Users can manage healthcare services on behalf of children or other family members, including bookings, consultations, and medical records.

 

Project result:

The Meliva app brings together key healthcare services, from virtual consultations and lab results to appointment scheduling and prescription management, into one intuitive platform.

By replacing scattered offline touchpoints with a seamless digital experience, it empowers patients to take control of their health in a faster, more convenient way.

Meliva continues to evolve the app in partnership with Civitta – shaping a modern standard for digital patient care in the region.
