LegalPad (now part of DEEL), is redefining how startups handle global hiring and work visas. The company provides a technology-driven platform that simplifies the complex immigration process for fast-growing startups hiring talent across borders.
By blending intelligent automation with human legal expertise, LegalPad empowers businesses to focus on growth while ensuring full compliance and efficiency.
The platform’s legacy struggled to keep up with increasing demand from startups expanding globally. Manual workflows caused delays in visa processing, limited scalability, and increased the potential for human error. The platform also lacked the seamless user experience expected by founders and HR teams managing multiple applications.
They needed a modern, unified system that could automate repetitive tasks, improve accuracy, and deliver a frictionless experience for both applicants and administrators – without losing the personal support that set the company apart.
HackTech team (now part of Civitta group) partnered with LegalPad to rebuild its core platform with a focus on scalability, usability, and intelligent automation. The engagement began with a full discovery phase: mapping existing workflows, identifying challenges, and gathering user feedback from startups and legal specialists. We then developed a minimum viable product (MVP) to validate critical workflows and refine the user experience.
Using an agile development model, the team incrementally expanded functionality, introducing automation layers and integrating real-time data handling. The new solution combined a React.js, Front end with a Python-based Back-end, ensuring both responsiveness and reliability. To maintain unique balance of software and human support, we built interfaces that allowed seamless interaction between users and case specialists-preserving the human touch while dramatically improving efficiency.
The rebuilt platform significantly improved both speed and scalability. Visa application times were reduced through automation, while user satisfaction increased thanks to a simplified, transparent experience. By integrating human support directly into the digital platform, the client maintained its personalized service model while scaling to meet DEEL’s growing global client base.
The solution also laid the groundwork for DEEL’s broader global mobility ecosystem positioning LegalPad as a central component in helping companies hire, relocate, and onboard talent worldwide.
