Anticimex – leading its European growth via market selection and M&A

Anticimex is a modern pest control company operating in more than 20 global markets. Through prevention, new technology, and sustainable solutions, it addresses international demands for healthy environments for individuals and businesses.

Anticimex was considering further expansion in Europe. The Civitta team was invited to work closely with the M&A and business development teams to identify and validate potential markets for further expansion, as well as to identify, analyze, and prioritize potential acquisition targets for Anticimex. 

Our approach:

The objective was to provide Anticimex with expansion decision-making guidance across 9 European markets, underpinned by qualitative and quantitative data, to deliver a robust overview and analysis of the markets in scope.

The project was divided into two mutually interconnected modules: Market Fundamentals Analysis module and Acquisition Targets module.

First module:

The Market Fundamentals Analysis

This module focused on the overall potential attractiveness of each market by analyzing, among other factors, variables such as:

  • Market characteristics
  • Future trends
  • Procurement practices

Second module:

The Acquisition Targets

This module concentrated on identifying, analyzing, and prioritizing potential acquisition targets in order to determine their potential fit within Anticimex’s established framework, by evaluating them through several analytical lenses:

Three markets were prioritized, and carefully vetted M&A targets were identified in each investigated geography.
