Anticimex is a modern pest control company operating in more than 20 global markets. Through prevention, new technology, and sustainable solutions, it addresses international demands for healthy environments for individuals and businesses.

Anticimex was considering further expansion in Europe. The Civitta team was invited to work closely with the M&A and business development teams to identify and validate potential markets for further expansion, as well as to identify, analyze, and prioritize potential acquisition targets for Anticimex. 

The essence of the project:

The objective was to provide Anticimex with expansion decision-making guidance, underpinned by qualitative and quantitative data, to deliver a robust overview and analysis of the markets in scope. 

Our approach:

The project was divided into two mutually interconnected modules:
The first, a market fundamentals analysis module, focused on the overall potential attractiveness of each market by analyzing, among other factors, variables such as the regulatory landscape, market characteristics, future trends, and procurement practices.

Because the industry is very niche and hard data is limited, the project relied heavily on interviews with market participants, including competitors, potential customers, and industry associations. More than 30 interviews were conducted across nine markets.

The second, the acquisition targets module, concentrated on identifying, analyzing, and prioritizing potential acquisition targets by evaluating them through several analytical lenses: strategic, financial, and governance, to determine their potential fit within Anticimex’s established framework.

 

This approach helped validate market potential and understand market composition, using additional sources such as financial databases and commercial registries to gather company-level data.
