Civitta is looking for experienced freelance professionals specialising in EU funding proposal writing and/or EU-funded project implementation and management.
We are building a network of independent experts to support our Funding team in developing competitive funding applications, coordinating projects, and managing the administrative and reporting requirements of EU-funded projects.
We welcome specialists in either area – experience in both is an advantage, but not a requirement.
At least 3 years of proven experience in one or both of the following areas:
EU funding proposal writing: Developing proposal content, structuring project concepts, defining objectives, activities, work packages, methodologies and expected impact, and coordinating inputs from clients or consortium partners.
EU-funded project implementation: Coordinating and monitoring project activities, preparing technical and financial reports, managing deliverables, and ensuring compliance with grant agreement requirements.
Experience with at least one relevant EU funding programme, such as Digital Europe (DEP), LIFE, Connecting Europe Facility (CEF), European Innovation Council (EIC), Eurostars, Horizon Europe, Innovation Fund, European Defence Fund (EDF), or European Defence Industry Programme (EDIP).
Excellent written and spoken English, with strong analytical, communication, and organisational skills.
Ability to work independently, manage deadlines, and deliver high-quality outputs within agreed timeframes.
Advantageous experience
Experience working with international consortia and coordinating multiple partners.
Experience across the full EU funding project lifecycle, from proposal development to implementation and reporting.
Experience supporting companies, research institutions, or universities in EU-funded projects.
Knowledge of EU funding compliance requirements, financial management, or project audits.
Experience with multiple EU funding programmes.
Relevant EU funding programmes
Our primary focus is on DEP, LIFE, CEF, EIC, Eurostars, Horizon Europe, Innovation Fund, EDF, and EDIP. Experience with Creative Europe or CERV may also be considered.
Please note that our current needs do not focus on local or cohesion-policy funding programmes. Experience limited to Interreg or Erasmus+ is not sufficient for our current needs.
Work remotely from anywhere in Europe, with the flexibility to organise your work around agreed project deadlines and deliverables.
Flexible freelance collaboration, tailored to project needs and mutual availability.
Flexible remuneration arrangements, including hourly rates, project-based fees, and potential revenue-sharing models.
Project-based assignments, with opportunities for continued cooperation as new projects arise.
Diverse international projects, contributing to EU funding proposals or the implementation of innovative projects across different sectors and programmes.
Collaboration with Civitta’s international Funding team and experienced consulting professionals.
The scope of work, expected time commitment, and remuneration will be agreed individually, depending on the assignment and your expertise.
We welcome independent professionals interested in hourly engagements or project-based arrangements.
