EdTech Ukraine Forum 2026: How Educational Technology and AI Are Transforming Learning

One of the Forum’s highlights was a keynote address by President of Estonia Alar Karis, focusing on the role of artificial intelligence in transforming education systems. During his speech, President Karis shared Estonia’s experience in digital transformation, highlighted the country’s AI Leap initiative, and emphasised that the future of education depends not only on technology itself, but also on society’s willingness to rethink the way people learn.

“Estonia’s experience has shown that digital transformation is about creating better opportunities for people and giving them the skills they need to thrive in a changing world. Artificial intelligence is now opening another new chapter in education, but its success will depend on how wisely we use it. We must ensure that technology strengthens teachers, supports learners and helps education become more personalised and accessible, while keeping people and human judgement at the centre”

During the first high-level panel discussion, representatives of the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine, UNICEF Ukraine, and international partners explored how to build an education system that is fit for the future while ensuring equal access to quality education and strengthening digital competencies.

“Despite the full-scale war, Ukraine has not stopped the digital transformation of education. On the contrary, technology has become one of the key tools for strengthening the resilience of the education system and supporting its development. The Ministry continues to systematically introduce digital solutions, while the WINWIN EdTech Center of Excellence is designed to help accelerate the research, testing, and scaling of innovations that truly work for students and teachers. I would like to thank President of Estonia Alar Karis and our Estonian partners for their support for Ukraine and their commitment to working together to advance modern education,”

A key milestone of the Forum was the presentation of the findings from a comprehensive study of Ukraine’s EdTech ecosystem conducted by Civitta. Covering more than 65,000 respondents, the study is one of the largest analyses of Ukraine’s educational technology landscape to date. It provides an in-depth overview of the ecosystem’s current state, identifies its key challenges and growth opportunities, and offers strategic recommendations for its future development.

“Ukraine’s EdTech ecosystem has already demonstrated its resilience, innovative capacity, and ability to develop world-class solutions. The next step is to create the conditions that will enable these solutions to become an integral part of the education system while scaling both across Ukraine and internationally. This research was designed to ensure that future decisions are guided by evidence rather than assumptions,”

The second panel discussion focused on strengthening Ukraine’s EdTech ecosystem by fostering collaboration between the government, educators, businesses, and international partners, while creating opportunities for Ukrainian EdTech solutions to scale globally. The third panel explored the practical integration of digital technologies and artificial intelligence into teaching and learning, the evolving competencies required of educators, and new approaches to education in the digital age.

The Forum also featured an EdTech Showcase, where Ukrainian companies presented innovative educational products and solutions, demonstrating the strength and international potential of Ukraine’s EdTech sector.

“The future of education will be determined not by how quickly we adopt new technologies, but by how well we can integrate them into the system. Ukraine has a strong EdTech community, innovative businesses, and unique experience in transforming education amid a crisis. Now it is important to pool these resources to move from isolated digital solutions to systemic changes and prepare Ukrainian education for the AI era,”

“Ukraine has a strong and innovative EdTech sector, and the next step is to turn this potential into lasting improvements across the education system. The Forum is an important opportunity to take stock of what has been achieved, use the evidence from the new ecosystem research, and agree on where the sector should go next. Our aim is to support a Ukrainian education system that is resilient, innovative and ready for the future.”

EdTech Ukraine Forum marked the conclusion of the programme dedicated to developing Ukraine’s EdTech ecosystem and represented another important step towards building a shared vision for the future of digital education. The discussions reinforced that meaningful transformation of education can only be achieved through close collaboration between governments, international partners, educators, businesses, and the technology community.

The EdTech Ecosystem Research and Development Project in Ukraine is an initiative of the Ministry of Digital Transformation of Ukraine and the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine. It is funded by the Estonian Centre for International Development (ESTDEV) and implemented by Civitta in cooperation with EdTech Ukraine and EdTech Estonia, in partnership with the WINWIN EdTech Centre of Excellence.
